Class 47, 47157 at St Austell.8 пъти видянаClass 47, 47157 stands on the Down Line at St Austell with the coaches that have formed part of the Motorail Service from Kensington Olympia. The Cars still on the Carflat Wagons have been detached from the rear of the train, and can be glimpsed on the left hand side of the scene, as expectant holidaymakers make their way off the platform to be re-united with their vehicles. Such civilised ways of taking your car to Cornwall have long been abondoned. 27th July 1980.

The loco became surplus to requirements in 1996, and was shipped back to the mainland for use at Hornsey Depot in North London. Now the only operational class 03 on the former national network, it is in FCC livery.

Class 76, 76022 at Reddish Electric Depot.3 пъти видянаIt is three months since the 1500V DC Manchester to Sheffield line was closed as a through route, and the Class 76 electrics that plied the route on a daily basis for nearly 30 years, are gathered together on October 3rd 1981 at Reddish Depot awaiting their fate. 76022 had become a minor celebrity as it was the only Class 76 to retain the old Lion & Wheel emblems on its Rail Blue paintwork. It was still hoped that the route would re-open, but it was not to be - 76022 was eventually scrapped in 1983.

Class 306 EMUs at Leicester (GC).2 пъти видянаDating from 1949, former Liverpool St-Shenfield Class 306 EMUs, 055, 033, 083 & 078 wait at the entrance to Vic Berrys Scrapyard at Leicester on July 19th 1982. The location is adjacent to the former Great Central Main Line, that last saw a passenger train in 1969 when the DMU service between Rugby and Nottingham was withdrawn. Upperton Road bridge that once spanned the extensive trackwork at this location, was demolished in 2007 - yet another bit of the infrastructure of the old GC Main Line lost forever.13 Февруари 2015
