Class 110 'Calder Valley' E52080 at Skipton.4 閲覧Almost at the end of its BR career, a Class 110 'Calder Valley' DMU with E52080 leading, awaits departure from Skipton whilst working from Morecambe to Leeds on May 6th 1989. Fitted with Rolls-Royce engines, the original 3-Car sets were introduced in 1961 for use on the steeply graded ex LYR Calder Valley route between Manchester Victoria, Bradford & Leeds. A partial refurbishment during the early 1980s saw many of the sets reduced to 2-Cars to save money.

Class 306 EMUs at Leicester (GC).2 閲覧Dating from 1949, former Liverpool St-Shenfield Class 306 EMUs, 055, 033, 083 & 078 wait at the entrance to Vic Berrys Scrapyard at Leicester on July 19th 1982. The location is adjacent to the former Great Central Main Line, that last saw a passenger train in 1969 when the DMU service between Rugby and Nottingham was withdrawn. Upperton Road bridge that once spanned the extensive trackwork at this location, was demolished in 2007 - yet another bit of the infrastructure of the old GC Main Line lost forever.2015年 02月 13日
