47532 at Daisyfield Junction, Blackburn.3 閲覧With some of the landmarks of the town of Blackburn in the background, a rather grimy class 47, 47532 has just left the East Lancashire Line at Daisyfield Junction, and leans into the curve on the single track section through the site of the one time Daisyfield Station and Goods Yard, with a diverted Birmingham New Street to Edinburgh service at 12.18 pm on the 11th March 1989.

Class 45, 45051 arrives at Exeter St Davids.2 閲覧Very much a routine sight at the time, 45051 slips into Exeter St Davids with a lengthy NE/SW service formed of MkI stock on July 27th 1978. The former GWR bracket signals are still in use, and what was the Exe Valley bay platform on the right is full of parcel vans waiting to be loaded. Along the platform can be seen BRUTE trollies, another common sight at every main station, they too along with the Peak, the MkIs and the vintage signals belong to a vanished world.

Class 306 EMUs at Leicester (GC).2 閲覧Dating from 1949, former Liverpool St-Shenfield Class 306 EMUs, 055, 033, 083 & 078 wait at the entrance to Vic Berrys Scrapyard at Leicester on July 19th 1982. The location is adjacent to the former Great Central Main Line, that last saw a passenger train in 1969 when the DMU service between Rugby and Nottingham was withdrawn. Upperton Road bridge that once spanned the extensive trackwork at this location, was demolished in 2007 - yet another bit of the infrastructure of the old GC Main Line lost forever.2015年 02月 13日
