The small yard here was busy with coal traffic in 16 Ton Mineral Wagons, and some sidings for the repair of crippled MGR Coal Hoppers as seen here. B350059 was one of the early build turned out from Shildon Works in 1965. At the time of this photograph, 08223 was allocated to Sheffield Tinsley Depot which had been its home since May 1964. The tour had started from Liverpool Lime Street and was bound for Lincoln. 76025 hauled the tour from Guide Bridge, via Woodhead to Rotherwood Sidings, where a pair of Class 31s took over. This & the return journey with the same loco, was the last time a Class 76 would haul a passenger train. Closed in July 1981, this side of Penistone Station is now abandoned and covered in trees.

Class 306 EMUs at Leicester (GC).Просмотров: 2Dating from 1949, former Liverpool St-Shenfield Class 306 EMUs, 055, 033, 083 & 078 wait at the entrance to Vic Berrys Scrapyard at Leicester on July 19th 1982. The location is adjacent to the former Great Central Main Line, that last saw a passenger train in 1969 when the DMU service between Rugby and Nottingham was withdrawn. Upperton Road bridge that once spanned the extensive trackwork at this location, was demolished in 2007 - yet another bit of the infrastructure of the old GC Main Line lost forever.Фев 13, 2015
