Class 37, 37244 at Deepdale Junction.9 viewsHaving reversed its short load of empty HEA Coal Hoppers out of the coal sidings at Deepdale, 37244 waits at Deepdale Junction, before returning to Preston Station and then onwards to Washwood Heath. 3rd May 1990.

60019 & New Tank Wagons, Strand Road.9 viewsThe first working with the new tank wagons on 6M32, took place on the 26th November 2010. Class 60, 60019, complete with silver buffers, (sprayed over the grease!), waits to cross Strand Road Level Crossing.

08815 Farington Curve - Ormskirk Line.9 viewsAn emergency services training exercise was carried out on the first quarter of a mile of the Preston to Ormskirk line, just below Farington Curve, on Sunday 5th November 1989. Preston Station Pilot, Class 08, 08815 was used, along with condemed mark 1 coaches, W18982, W18595, W19021, W18373, 35332 & brake van B955110. 08815 had a brief moment of fame when it appeared in the 'Rocket 150', celebrations at Rainhill in May 1980.

Class 104 DMU at Southport.9 viewsA joint open day was held at Southport on the 28th September 1985, between British Rail and the Steamport Museum, situated in the former Southport MPD. A shuttle service was oprated between the station and the museum by a Class 104, 2-Car DMU. On tracks now lifted, 53469 & 54175 run along the link from the station towards the former St Lukes station, before reversing into the Museum yard.

Ex BR Class 17 at Ribble Cement, Clitheroe.9 viewsThe amazing survivor. Former BR class 17, Clayton type 1, D8568, lived to fight another day after withdrawl from BR service, in industrial use with the Ribble Cement Company at Clitheroe. Keeping company with Presflo cement wagons, the loco is seen on the 3rd May 1982.

97020 at Reading Depot.9 viewsThe former shunter at the Reading Signal Works was Ruston & Hornsby 88DS, number 97020. Made redundant by a class 06, transferred from Scotland, the 1957 built loco is seen at Reading Diesel Depot on the 15th November 1981.

Sentinel 'Energy' Preston Docks.9 viewsEx Manchester Ship Canal Sentinel Diesel, works number 10165, built in 1965 has assummed the identity of former Preston Dock Sentinel 'Energy'. The refurbished loco was in action on the Ribble Steam Railway Diesel Gala on the 2nd October 2010 with a demonstration train of tar tank wagons. The loco is approaching the riverside curve situated before the swingbridge across the former dock entrance.
